Temperature measurements, the foundation of furnace operations.
TESS is a supervisory monitoring system for high temperature measurements providing fault detection of thermocouples in real time in combination with soft sensors for virtual replacement of faulty measurements. The system is also used to calibrate new thermocouples.
When using TESS, thermocouples are only changed when the performance is reduced. An estimated temperature from TESS can be used while waiting for an suitable opportunity to change the faulty thermocouple. Maintenance cost is significantly reduced since the entire lifetime of each thermocouple can be utilized without the risk of affecting furnace operation.
